TAMPA, Fla. – A man who authorities say escaped from a state prison has shot and killed himself inside a motel room near Tampa.
Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies say they received a tip and knocked on the man’s motel room door late Sunday night. The man refused to open and a few minutes later authorities heard a gunshot. He was found dead inside.
The man’s name has not been released.
