Justin Rose discovers his driver has been misplaced hours before 1st round of British Open

HOYLAKE, England – Justin Rose played the first two holes of his opening round of the British Open without a driver after it was mistakenly removed from his golf bag by his caddie.

Rose’s caddie, Mark Fulcher, had arranged to send two drivers to a couple of his friends in the south of England. Unfortunately, one of the drivers he gave away belonged to Rose.

The driver was eventually returned to Rose — but only after he started his round at Royal Liverpool.

Rose says “it was a bit of a comedic start to the day, no doubt.”

The 2013 U.S. Open champion shot an even-par 72 to lie six strokes behind leader Rory McIlroy.
