DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A Florida Highway Patrol trooper trying to pull over a vehicle during a police chase hit another car with a woman and three children inside.
An FHP report says the trooper was chasing a suspect Thursday afternoon near Daytona Beach when he crossed into the oncoming lane and hit a sedan.
The vehicle being chased fled the scene but eventually crashed, and the driver then fled on foot.
The trooper, the woman and the three children were all taken to a nearby hospital but later released.
The crash remains under investigation and charges were reported as pending.
